The US Oncology Foundation was founded in September 2008 with a generous gift from US Oncology to provide support to cancer patients and their families throughout the United States, and to help prevent new cancer incidence in the future.
US Oncology, a global leader in the cancer movement, made a generous contribution to establish this public 501(c)3 organization. Foundation grants and donations from individuals have provided additional funds, and more are needed to ensure that the foundation’s work is life enhancing for cancer patients and their families.
Our mission:
To advance cancer care in local communities by removing the barriers to prevention, education, early detection, treatment and survivorship.
Our vision:
We will work with local community and nonprofit organizations to help patients and their families tackle the complexities of life with cancer and prevent new cases of the disease from developing.
An economy in recession, unemployment rates at an all time high and cancer treatment costs that often exceed a family’s ability to pay are all reasons why the US Oncology Foundation’s primary focus is to provide funds to assist cancer patients with living expenses (mortgage payments, transportation costs, child care) to help alleviate the stress caused by financial hardship.
The US Oncology Foundation also works with community organizations with strong supporting grass roots programs on cancer prevention through education and screenings and collaborates with local organizations to implement programs that support cancer survivors and their families.
Join us today to help relieve the financial burden that so many cancer patients suffer.
